Works as designed
Requires power supply to operate

This DVD drive works fine but if you plan to travel light and portable, you may want to consider other alternative. The DVD writer works only if connected to a power source and unlike other slim driver, it will not draw its power through the USB connector. That means no real portability since you need an outlet for it run.

Slim and compact for easy storage; comes with Nero software

Nice compact, slim design; complements my Sony Vaio laptop. Less expensive way to replace the removable laptop DVD drive which is no longer under warranty. Easy to set up -- just plug and play. Comes with Nero software, which is a plus. Have only used it for a week, but have excellent experience with Sony products.
